A 28-year-old man from Fort Myers, Florida, identified as Ameer Isaiah, was arrested in Moline after an altercation with his 27-year-old girlfriend resulted in gunshots being fired into her vehicle. The incident occurred around 3:30 a.m. on Friday.
According to the authorities, an argument escalated between Ameer and his girlfriend, prompting him to retaliate by discharging three rounds from a handgun into her vehicle. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in connection with the incident, which took place on the 2500 block of 52nd Avenue.
The couple, who had been dating for approximately a year, reside in Florida and were in transit at the time. They had recently been in Michigan and claimed to be en route to Iowa for the purpose of inspecting a property they intended to purchase. The girlfriend stated her intention to return to Florida soon.
Having arrived in Moline on Thursday at around 1 p.m., Ameer Isaiah was subsequently apprehended. He now faces charges of reckless discharge of a firearm and unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon. Currently, he is being held in Rock Island County Jail with a bond set at $150,000.
